Ultra clear glass (also called extra clear glass, low iron glass, optiwhite glass, super clear glass, crystal clear glass , starphire glass, clear vision glass) is a high transparent low iron content glass with light transmittance 90-91% . Ultra clear glass has the characteristics of low spontaneous breakages, high purity, noble elegance especially the jewel-like blue edge. and crowned as CRYSTAL PRINCE of glass family.
Low iron glass allow for high transmission since it is extremely clear. This type of glass is used in instance where you would want it to be used for more neutral color application.
The clarity of the glass also works as a solar heat transmittance. Therefore it allows more solar heat to enter allowing for lower energy bills throughout the winter.
Low Iron glass is typically used in almost any application in which low coloration and/or high optical transmission is desired. Low iron glass is also used in applications where the cosmetics of the glass are important.
Low Iron glass can be fabricated in the same ways as regular soda lime glass.
How does the Low Iron Glass work?
Making glass as clear and color neutral as the Low Iron glass is a combination of raw materials such as silica with low amounts of iron. Iron is what causes glass to have the greenish blue tint you commonly see on the edges. Thus, removing the iron makes the glass color neutral.

The glass has high light transmittance, which makes it true to color for any designer vision. The clarity emits a brighter view for a more natural look.
